Vancouver, Washington Flotilla

Flotilla 78 is located on the north shore of the Columbia River at Vancouver in Clark County, Washington. We are charged with supporting the mission of homeland security as an integral part of Team Coast Guard.

We invite you to take advantage of the benefits available through the Auxiliary by becoming a member of our team. Benefits include advanced and basic boating instruction, joint training with the Coast Guard both on the water and in the classroom, communications and disaster response,  manning of command posts and much more. Flotilla 78 conducts boater education classes that qualify you for either the Washington or Oregon required Boater Education Card. 

The Vessel Safety checks are free and help you be sure you are following the safety laws.

WARNING!

Do not approach within 100 yards of any U.S. naval vessel. If you need to pass within 100 yards of a U.S. naval vessel in order to ensure a safe passage in accordance with the Navigation Rules, you must contact the U.S. naval vessel or the Coast Guard escort vessel on VHF-FM channel 16.

You must operate at minimum speed within 500 yards of any U.S. naval vessel and proceed as directed by the Commanding Officer or the official patrol.

Violations of the Naval Vessel Protection Zone are a felony offense, punishable by up to 6 years in prison and/or up to $250,000 in fines
